Shhh…. the Twitter "secret"

So twitter just told me I was selected as an “exclusive” member to try their new “lists” feature. They also told me not to talk about it… well…we all know what happens when someone tells me not to do something– I immediately do it. Besides, there is a good chance that everyone got that “exclusive” message…

This is how they explained it:

“New! Lists. A great way to organize the people you follow and discover new and interesting accounts. (BETA)

Lists are timelines you build yourself, consisting of friends, family, co-workers, sports teams, you name it. You’re part of a small group receiving this feature, so don’t tweet about it yet!”

I don’t know if I entirely understand what it is… I guess it allows users to create lists of people they suggest others follow. Basically you make a list of everyone you enjoy following and then others can subscribe to your list.

Right now I created a list called “Worthy” (@jessicajsaggio/worthy)… haha. Eventually I will add people to it. If you think you are worthy of my list, tweet me at JessicaJSaggio

Usually I’m pretty opposed to changes that make things more complex, but I think this might actually be a good idea on Twitter’s part. My prediction was once that Twitter wouldn’t make it past 2013, and honestly, I still don’t think they will, but this is certainly a step in the right direction if I do say so myself.

PS: Don’t you just HATE it when you see the Fail Whale (the image shown at the top)?!?!? Don’t tell me too many people are tweeting!!! You can never have too many tweeters!
